ZZbetter Attended the 14th China Tungsten Industry Annual Conference

"Red Hunan and Jiangxi, the world's tungsten ridge; precision manufacturing, tungsten unparalleled." with a clear theme, the 14th China Tungsten Industry Annual Conference was held. It brought together more than 300 representatives of tungsten companies, experts and professors, and leading guests from all over the country. During the three-day agenda from the 6th to the 8th, a variety of activities were carried out, including a welcome promotion meeting, an opening ceremony, a business promotion meeting, a theme report meeting, and visits and inspections. The event attracted tremendous viewers through the cloud business platform.

After the lively and jubilant opening ceremony, Zhao Zhongwei, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a metallurgical expert at Central South University, took the stage first to give a speech. He prefaced the speech with a classic ancient poem and presented an APP with pictures and texts. He then delivered a keynote speech entitled "New Technology for Clean Tungsten Metallurgy", which quickly attracted the attention of the entire audience. 

Qiu Wanyi, Secretary General of Ganzhou Tungsten Industry Association, delivered a speech entitled "The Current Situation and Prospect of Supply and Demand of Tungsten Concentrate and Recycled Tungsten Raw Materials", Zhang Zhongjian, Executive President of Zhuzhou Cemented Carbide Industry Association, delivered a speech entitled "Large-Scale Equipment Update to Promote the Development of China's Cemented Carbide Industry", and Li Xin, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Jucheng Diamond Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a speech entitled "Application and Development of Tungsten Wire Diamond Wire Saw in Cutting Hard and Brittle Materials". These reports were professional, instructive, and effective, and directly addressed the needs and expectations of industrial development, winning rounds of applause.

In the information age, data reports are crucial. Reports such as "Big Data Report on Trial of Tungsten, Molybdenum, and Other Mining Rights Disputes in 2023", "Release of Tungsten Industry Data in 2024", and "Forecast Price of Tungsten Market in August 2024" provide guidance for the tungsten and molybdenum industries to assess the situation and develop steadily, which are very inspiring and beneficial.

1. Advances in Tungsten Ore Smelting Technology. In the past decades, the Chinese government, Chinese enterprises, and Chinese academies have been working very hard to improve the tungsten ore smelting technology. We have made lots of improvements, but there is more we can do to fully smelt the tungsten ore, to reduce the impact on the environment, and to improve the productivity of tungsten ore.

2. China has the world's largest tungsten reserves, but after years of mining, most of the high-quality, easy-to-mine ore has been mined. The remaining tungsten ore is not high in purity and is difficult to mine. Tungsten ore is a non-renewable resource. It is very important to improve the quality of tungsten products and extend their service life.

3. Tungsten is an important military resource. It can be made into tools to process military aerospace equipment; it can also be used in lethal weapons.

4. Zhuzhou city supplies 50% of world tungsten carbide products. However, the quality of tungsten carbide products is in the middle or low-quality range. The world has a large demand for high-quality tungsten carbide products. Tungsten carbide manufacturers need to study and improve the quality of tungsten carbide products.

5. Recycled tungsten is getting more important. How to fully use the tungsten material, and recycle tungsten is an important part. Recycle tungsten can be made to APT or tungsten powder. The purity of tungsten is the key to deciding the tungsten product’s quality. Developing a high-purity and environment-friendly method for recycling tungsten is a key problem we should work on.
